Job Summary

This position reports to the Project Leader or Installation manager as immediate manager and in day-to-day work to the Arbetsledare/Supervisor. On-site or in-house servicing, repair and/or installation of company product(s). This job will include field support and installation of data cables, installation of cabinets, sensors, cameras, variable message signs, switches, and other monitoring equipment installations.

Location

The position will be field based, working from various locations of SICE Nordics project sites. The main base will be at the Employer’s premises in E4 Förbifart Stockholm - ByPass.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Follow supervisor’s directions for all tasks
• Read and understand project documents such as plans and specifications
• Support in overall installation and maintenance activities in the field of technical systems for metro, tunnel and road projects.
• Installs equipment including but not limited to cameras, detectors, cabinets, switches, radio etc.
• Installs pull boxes and conduit.
• Installation of different types of cables, including pulling cable and installation of cable in conduits
• Connect and terminates comms cables (UTP RJ45 for CAT5 and CAT6, coax) to equipment.
• Connect electrical conductors to power services to energize equipment.
• Overall support to testing team to verify devices’ functionality.
• Execution of periodic maintenance activities for installed systems.
• Prepares logs to keep track of field conditions and installation activities, daily journal (dagbok).
• Assists Arbetsledare/Supervisor in various aspects related to installation works.
• Other duties may be assigned.
• Perform duties at multiple construction sites, simultaneously.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

This position involves work at a construction site (such as on and around roadways, tunnels, bridges) where duties will be performed both indoors and outdoors.

Overtime may be required to meet project deadlines

Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse and other business machines, as well as hand tools and power tools.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk; Use hands; Reach with hands and arms; Climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up heavy equipment/materials.

Occasional night work may occur.

The employee must report daily activities via tools/software provided by the employer.

Preferred Skills And Experience

• Minimum of 3 years of verifiable experience, with knowledge in technical areas such as electrical, security systems / Intelligent Transportation Systems and the like.
• Electrical and fiber optic knowledge (ability to read and interpret electrical and fiber optic plans) is preferred.
• Experience in tunnel and road systems (intelligent transportation, access controls, radio, CCTVs) and/or electronics/computers/networking is preferred.
• Ability to use Microsoft Office (Excel, Teams, word, outlook), basic level.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as plans and specifications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Previous experience working in road and tunnels industry, for projects with public customers (Trafikverket, FUT) preferred.

Education

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.

Electrician education (The National Electrical Safety Board authorization) preferred.

Telecommunication education preferred.

Certificate for operating aerial work platforms (IPAF PAL card or equivalent) preferred.

Others

Possession of a valid Swedish driver's license is a requirement for this job.
