Job summary

Hitachi Energy is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join our HVDC automation and control systems team. You will develop and integrate electrical solutions across tendering, design, installation and commissioning, collaborating with internal teams and external partners worldwide.

You will contribute to documentation, interface management, and ensure high-quality delivery while communicating fluently in English within diverse international project environments.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical education.
• At least 5 years of experience in electrical design within power systems, substations, HVDC, industrial automation, or related fields.
• Experience with E3.SERIES CAD for electrical design and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain electrical design documentation (cable block diagrams, cable schedules, circuit diagrams).
• Support integration of supplier-delivered systems into HVDC solutions.
• Review, specify, and approve electrical design deliverables from suppliers and engineering partners.
• Coordinate technical interfaces between suppliers and cross-functional project teams.
• Contribute technical expertise during tendering, design, and project execution phases.
• Support installation, testing, and commissioning activities, remotely and on-site as required.
• Identify and resolve technical issues to ensure safe, high-quality project delivery.
