Job summary

Mpya Sci & Tech is seeking an experienced ECU Project Leader / Design Leader to drive next‑generation ECU and system concepts for future mobility and safety applications.

You will lead global teams across Europe, North America and Asia, defining architectures, roadmaps and development strategies while aligning with customers, suppliers and business leaders. A strong background in automotive electronics and FuSa is essential.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, Systems Engineering, Embedded Systems or similar.
• Experience from a Tier-1 automotive supplier or OEM is highly preferred.
• Proven experience leading advanced engineering, concept development or innovation programs.
• Strong background in automotive electronics systems and ECU development (HW, SW, FuSa).
• Proven ability to lead globally distributed teams and influence stakeholders across organizations.
• Excellent communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills.

• Lead globally distributed engineering teams across Europe, North America and Asia.
• Interface between innovation teams, system architects, customers, suppliers and leaders.
• Support customer engagements, innovation workshops and concept reviews.
• Report on concept maturity, roadmap status and technology readiness.

About the role

We are looking for an experienced ECU Project Leader / Design Leader for an assignment with one of our clients in the automotive industry. You will drive the definition and development of next-generation automotive safety electronics platforms and system concepts. The role is part of the innovation organization and focuses on early concept creation and maturation. From the start, you make sure the concepts account for later needs: customer application, validation, industrialization and SOP readiness. You turn customer, market, regulatory and technology trends into robust system and ECU concepts that future product programs can build on. You also lead global teams around a common vision and roadmap.

What you’ll do

• Lead and influence globally distributed engineering teams across Europe, North America and Asia
• Act as a key interface between innovation teams, system architects, customers, suppliers and business leaders
• Support customer engagements, innovation workshops, technology demonstrations and concept reviews
• Report regularly to management on concept maturity, roadmap status and technology readiness
• Coach and mentor engineers and technical leaders

Requirements

• Degree in Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, Systems Engineering, Embedded Systems or similar
• Significant experience from a Tier‑1 automotive supplier (highly preferred) or OEM
• Proven experience leading advanced engineering, concept development or innovation programs
• Strong background in automotive electronics systems and ECU development (HW, SW, FuSa and related domains)
• Proven ability to lead globally distributed teams and influence stakeholders across organizations
• Excellent communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills

Also

It’s a plus if you have:

• Experience with safety‑critical automotive systems such as EPS and chassis functions
• Knowledge of ISO 26262, ISO 21434 and ASPICE
• Experience from pre‑RFQ, research or advanced development activities
