Job description

Description

JOB TITLE: Warehouse Associate I

Wineshipping is a tech-enabled third-party logistics (3PL) provider for alcoholic beverage companies, managing the fastest, most accurate, and most cost-efficient delivery network in the US for wine, beer, spirits, and more. We have been voted North Bay Business Journal’s Supplier of the Year (Wine Beer & Spirits Awards), and most recently “Best Place to Work” by Best of Napa County Magazine.

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

You are at the core of our service delivery to our clients. Nothing happens without you. You’ll handle accurate picking of orders, packing orders securely to protect the product, building packaging material so it’s ready in real time, securing pallets of product to prevent damage in transit, making sure things are where they are supposed to be at all times, and most of all following our processes for reliable quality results. We are a temperature-controlled facility, so it’s a pleasantly cool work environment.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Using scan technology in the picking and packing process.
  • Checking orders to make sure they’re right before we send them out the door.
  • Labeling cartons with order information so they can be checked twice for accuracy.
  • Using safe work methods - always.
  • Help us find things that don’t help our consistent quality.
  • Change things up from time to time as needed – we are flexible.
  • Be here when scheduled and be on time – others depend on you.

MINOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Do your best. Every day. Only you know when you’re doing your best.
  • Like we said before, sometimes you’ll move around between work areas. Keep it interesting.
  • Pay attention to the details so we can do it right the first time.
  • Listen to your supervisor and ask questions when things aren’t clear.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB

  • Experience working in a warehouse is ideal.
  • Knowledge of picking and packing, but we will teach you how to use our processes.
  • Be trustworthy to do your thing when nobody is watching.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Prolonged periods of standing/walking.
  • Occasionally lift, carry and/or move up to 50lbs, but you can get help when you need it.
  • You’ll work with your hands, peeling labels, closing and opening boxes, and placing items securely.
  • Throughout your shift you may be required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel, or crawl.
  • Continually work near moving mechanical parts, such as a powered pick line or moving powered lift equipment.
  • Occasional loud noise, but not constantly.
  • Occasional varying environmental temperature changes, but not much because wine likes to stay cool.

BENEFITS

Benefits: 401(k) with match, Health insurance, Dental insurance, Vision insurance, Disability insurance, Employee Assistance Program (mental health is important!), Flexible spending account, Health savings account, Life insurance, Paid time off, Referral program, and sometimes we hand out free wine (subject to our policies and internal controls – it’s not a free for all). You’ll also be eligible for a bonus based on how the facility performs each year, and you will have direct control of that performance!

We are an equal opportunity employer and we truly value diversity in our company. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, disability status, or marital status. All are welcome to join and thrive at Wineshipping!
