Job description

Huawei Stockholm Digital Power Lab - Senior Power Electronics Designer

Huawei's Stockholm Digital Power Lab (Stockholm Research Center) specializes in Digital Power Advanced Technology Research, Architecture Evolution Design, and Strategic Technology Planning. We are seeking a Senior Power Electronics Designer with expertise in Power Electronics Technology, simulation, design, and Digital control.

Responsibilities:

  1. Design of power converters, focusing on DC-DC, AC-DC, and DC-AC converters.
  2. Analyze and conduct experimental work in our lab environment.
  3. Collaborate with internal teams to define system requirements and develop key technical competencies for Huawei's future products.
  4. Lead R&D projects on novel power converter architectures for low- and medium-power applications such as telecom power, battery management DCDC, PV inverters, and EV chargers.
  5. Oversee design, testing, and verification of power converter systems in laboratory settings.
  6. Work with external R&D institutes and universities on collaborative projects for developing innovative technologies and control algorithms.
  7. Document R&D activities and results.
  8. Represent Huawei at international power electronics conferences and exhibitions.
  9. Occasionally travel to Huawei China for internal collaboration.

Requirements:

  • PhD or Master in Power Electronics/Electrical and Electronic Engineering (or similar).
  • Deep knowledge of telecom power, inverter, BMS DCDC, EV chargers, ACDC, DCAC, DCDC topologies, modulation, control, and simulation tools.
  • Strong understanding of power electronic converters and WBG semiconductor devices.
  • Motivated and interested in innovative solutions, with leadership willingness in R&D activities.
  • Self-reliant, autonomous, and target-oriented with strong analytical skills.
  • Willing to learn new technologies and take on new responsibilities.
  • Proficiency in English; international and multicultural work experience preferred.
