About the Role

Powerbox is strengthening its R&D team and seeks a skilled Director to join us. This position is based at our headquarters in Västberga. The role includes membership in the local management group, influencing strategic decisions. A planned handover with the retiring R&D Director ensures a smooth transition. You will work closely with colleagues across Sweden, Europe, and Japan to drive innovations in power electronics. The Cosel Group has established a strong presence of technical experts in Europe and Japan to foster collaboration and accelerate knowledge exchange in advanced technologies.

As R&D Director, you will lead research projects and develop strategies for power conversion solutions, ensuring alignment with market demands and regulations, with a focus on innovation. Staying updated on emerging technologies and design standards affecting power electronics will be essential.

Key Responsibilities

1. Oversee daily research and development of power conversion solutions.
2. Collaborate with design teams on product innovation, testing, and validation.
3. Coordinate resources, budgets, and schedules to meet goals.
4. Manage product development for custom and defense standard products.
5. Handle customer inquiries within the group.
6. Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
7. Drive continuous improvements in design, documentation, and manufacturing processes.
8. Manage the handover process with the retiring R&D Director.
9. Monitor emerging technologies and market trends.
10. Develop product specifications, marketing materials, manuals, certifications, and support sales and customer meetings.
11. Follow-up and evaluate market activities.

Qualifications

Required:

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
• Operational leadership in R&D projects
• Extensive experience in power supply development
• Fluency in English (spoken and written)
• EU citizenship and valid Swedish work permit
