Job summary

The European Spallation Source ERIC invites applications for an Instrument Scientist to join the DREAM project in Lund, Sweden. The role focuses on commissioning a state-of-the-art neutron powder diffractometer and integrating it into ESS user programs.

You will collaborate with core instrument teams and partner institutions to push the instrument at the forefront of diffraction science. The successful candidate will hold a PhD in experimental physical sciences, have practical diffraction

Qualifications

PhD in experimental physical sciences relevant to DREAM (energy or nanoscaled materials preferred).
Experience in neutron powder diffraction and data analysis.
Demonstrated independent research with publications.
Strong interpersonal and presentation skills with staff and users.

Responsibilities

Finalize installation and commissioning of all instruments in the division.
Deliver capabilities for internal and external users to advance science and technology.
Deliver scientific results from neutron instruments in collaboration with user community and other divisions.
Plan and implement developments and upgrades to maximize instrument performance.
