Overview

Join our Team. Our Microwave & Digital Design team in Gothenburg is seeking highly motivated digital hardware designers at all levels of experience to join us in developing our MINI-LINK products, part of Ericsson's wireless backhaul portfolio. MINI-LINK is a microwave network node delivering market-leading performance driven by the rapid evolution of smartphones, IoT, and the next generation of mobile networks. Our unit has the design responsibility of the MINI-LINK indoor units as well as the outdoor mmW products. This includes the development of new hardware products and the maintenance of existing ones.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate effectively within a supportive and encouraging team environment, leveraging industry-leading tools and the expertise of your colleagues.
  • Drive and enhance our digital design capabilities by contributing your skills and insights.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including layout, power, mechanical, and thermal design, to ensure seamless integration and optimized product outcomes.
  • Execute schematic design, conduct pre- and post-layout simulations, support layout activities, and participate actively in board and product verification processes.
  • Engage hands-on in verification and troubleshooting within our well-equipped lab, applying practical skills to solve real-world challenges.
Skills and Qualifications
  • In this role, you will work across a range of key areas, growing your skills and contributing your expertise. Whether you are an experienced designer or early in your career, you will have the opportunity to develop and expand your capabilities in the following domains:
  • Digital hardware design: Gain hands-on experience with essential components such as CPUs, memories (DRAM/flash), Ethernet switches, clock synthesizers, jitter cleaners, and more.
  • Signal and power integrity: Understand the principles behind signal and power integrity challenges and advance your skills using industry-standard simulation tools.
  • Schematic and PCB design: Develop proficiency with schematic design and printed circuit board design.
  • Hands-on hardware lab work: Build practical skills, including soldering and working with lab instruments such as power supplies, multimeters, oscilloscopes, and spectrum analyzers, along with mastering measurement techniques.
  • Independent and proactive work style: Cultivate the ability to work independently as well as in a team, drive projects forward, actively seek information, and establish a strong personal network both within Ericsson and the broader industry.
Candidate profile
  • Preferably a Bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Wireless, photonics, and space engineering, Embedded electronic system design, or a related technical field.
  • Collaborates naturally, sharing knowledge clearly and effectively across teams.
  • Excels at problem-solving, quickly diagnosing issues, and driving them to resolution.
  • Shows enthusiasm for innovation by generating new solutions and ideas to explore, fostering a collaborative environment that welcomes contributions and experimentation from team members at all levels.
