Maandag Nordic seeks a Senior DevOps Engineer / DevOps Team Lead to strengthen a technically advanced software environment for embedded systems. This role blends hands-on DevOps work with team leadership to drive delivery and excellence.

You will plan, prioritize and coordinate the DevOps team, develop CI/CD pipelines, automate infrastructure and work across Linux, macOS, AWS/Azure and automated testing. You will mentor engineers while contributing technically and shaping long-term DevOps

Job description

We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer / DevOps Team Lead for an assignment within a technically advanced software development environment focused on embedded systems.

The DevOps team currently consists of three engineers and is responsible for developing, maintaining and continuously improving the organization’s software production environment, including development tools, infrastructure, CI/CD and automation solutions. The development environment supports both Linux and Android platforms and several engineering teams working across areas such as Embedded OS, Embedded Applications, SDK, FPGA and Production Software.

This is a role for someone who wants to combine hands-on DevOps engineering with team leadership, taking responsibility for driving the team forward while remaining actively involved in the technical work.

The Role

As Senior DevOps Engineer / DevOps Team Lead, you will play a central role in ensuring a stable, efficient and continuously evolving development environment.

You will plan and prioritize the work of the DevOps team, coordinate activities across different stakeholders and contribute to the longer-term development of the DevOps function. At the same time, you will work hands-on with infrastructure, automation, CI/CD and internally managed systems and services.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Planning, prioritizing and driving the activities of the DevOps team.
• Working hands-on with DevOps, infrastructure, automation and software delivery.
• Developing and improving CI/CD pipelines, tools and development workflows.
• Ensuring operational stability and continuous improvement of internal systems and services.
• Driving initiatives related to automation, infrastructure and software delivery processes.
• Supporting and maintaining systems and services managed by the DevOps team.
• Collaborating closely with software and embedded development teams as well as global IT.
• Coordinating activities and technical initiatives across multiple stakeholders.
• Contributing to the strategic development of the DevOps function.
• Actively supporting the adoption and use of AI-assisted tools and development practices.

Job requirements

We are looking for an experienced DevOps professional who is comfortable combining technical responsibility with leadership. You have worked in mature DevOps environments and are used to supporting complex software development organizations.

To be successful in this role, we believe you have experience with:

• Administration and support of Linux and macOS clients and servers within a software development environment.
• Python for scripting and automation.
• Development and support of cloud-based services and applications in AWS and/or Azure.
• Working in established and mature DevOps environments.
• Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery/Deployment (CI/CD), including methodologies, tools and best practices
• Integration and automation using REST APIs.
• Platforms and tools such as Bitbucket, Jenkins, Artifactory, GitLab and JIRA.
• Documentation of systems, processes, configurations and operational procedures.
• IP networking and basic network troubleshooting.
• Virtualized server environments.
• Issue management and ticketing systems.
• Practical use of AI tools and AI-assisted solutions as part of software development, including experience promoting or introducing AI-supported ways of working.
• You have previously worked in large and technically complex projects and are comfortable taking responsibility for both delivery and team coordination. Previous experience leading and developing a technical team is important for this assignment.

Nice to Have

Experience with administration and operation of virtualized server environments based on VMware is considered particularly valuable.
