Job description
About Us

AVTECH is a Swedish SaaS company in the aviation industry, headquartered on the 23rd floor of Kista Science Tower in Stockholm. We develop advanced digital services that help airlines worldwide optimize their operations – from fuel savings and flight trajectory optimization to improved punctuality and reduced environmental impact.

We are in a strong growth phase and now expanding our product development team with a DevOps Engineer / Developer. This is a key role where you’ll help transform how we build, test, release, and operate our products, making sure we can scale our delivery while maintaining high reliability and speed.

The Role

We are looking for a skilled developer with a strong DevOps mindset. In this role, you will primarily focus on modernizing our development and operations practices, but you will also contribute to product development as part of our engineering team.

Your mission will be to overhaul our CI/CD pipelines, introduce containerization and Kubernetes, and support our migration to AWS. At the same time, you’ll contribute directly to our codebase – mainly in Python, which is central to both our products and DevOps tooling.

Simply put: we need someone who loves to automate, but who is also a developer at heart. You’ll work closely with the CTO and our System Architect, while still driving your work independently. You’ll also play an important role in helping other developers adopt new ways of working.

What You’ll Do
  • Redesign and modernize AVTECH’s CI/CD pipelines for speed, reliability, and scalability.
  • Lead the introduction of containerization and Kubernetes in our environments.
  • Support and drive the migration of our infrastructure to AWS.
  • Automate deployment, testing, monitoring, and operational workflows.
  • Contribute to product development, primarily in Python (Django, data pipelines, services).
  • Promote DevOps best practices and guide developers in adopting modern tooling and workflows.
  • Collaborate closely with the CTO and the System Architect to align infrastructure with product and business goals.
What We’re Looking For
  • Solid background in software development (preferably Python).
  • Strong DevOps skills and hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar).
  • Experience with containerization and Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of AWS (networking, security, infrastructure as code).
  • Strong interest in automation and cloud-native operations.
  • Ability to drive your own work independently, take initiative, and lead change.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to coach other developers.
  • Fluency in English (spoken and written) is required. Swedish is a plus.
What We Offer
  • A central role in transforming how AVTECH builds and operates software.
  • The opportunity to work with modern technologies in the aviation industry.
  • A hybrid workplace with flexible hours, based in Kista Science Tower, Stockholm.
  • Competitive salary, bonus scheme, and attractive benefits.
  • A collaborative international team where your work makes a direct impact.
