Midsummer AB (publ) is seeking a Development Engineer to join our innovation team. You will drive development, testing, qualification and certification activities to ensure our products meet market and sustainability requirements.
You will evaluate materials, plan and analyze testing, drive improvements from idea to implementation, and coordinate certifications while maintaining technical documentation and collaborating with suppliers, production and sales.
As a Development Engineer at Midsummer, you'll be part of our innovation team, working closely with colleagues across production and other functions. Together, you'll drive development, testing, qualification and certification activities that help ensure our products meet both market and sustainability requirements.
Experience working independently with troubleshooting, testing, and structured technical investigations. Experience across multiple areas such as material qualification, product certification, supplier collaboration, sustainability requirements, and technical documentation is advantageous.
You're self-driven, structured and comfortable taking ownership of your work. You enjoy collaborating across different functions and can communicate technical information clearly to colleagues, suppliers and customers.
You combine attention to detail with a practical mindset and enjoy both analysis and hands‑on problem-solving. When challenges arise, you're able to work independently, identify root causes and drive activities forward.
Most importantly, you're someone who sees things through. You take ownership, stay persistent when obstacles appear, and have the determination to turn ideas, investigations and improvement initiatives into completed results.
Midsummer is a Swedish solar energy company that develops and manufactures lightweight, flexible and discreet solar panels based on CIGS thin‑film technology.
Our silicon‑free solar cells are approximately 90% lighter and have approximately 90% lower carbon emissions than traditional silicon‑based solar panels. They are manufactured at our production facilities in Järfälla, Sweden, and Bari, Italy, using our production technology.
Under the Midsummer Machinery brand, we also supply production systems for flexible thin‑film solar cells.
In this role, you'll contribute to the continued development, qualification, certification and sustainability performance of our solar technology.
