We are looking for a Design Engineering Analyst – Perceived Quality / Vehicle Engineering to join our team and help define the next generation of premium vehicles. In this role, you will drive the development and implementation of Perceived Quality (PQ) Geometry requirements, ensuring outstanding fit & finish, surface quality, and craftsmanship throughout the complete vehicle.
Working closely with Design, Vehicle Engineering, Manufacturing, and Product Development teams, you will ensure customer expectations are translated into measurable engineering requirements and delivered consistently across future vehicle programs.
The Perceived Quality Geometry team represents the voice of the customer throughout the product development process. We focus on creating harmonized geometry, premium craftsmanship, and world-class fit & finish by defining standards, validating designs, and influencing engineering decisions early in vehicle development.
Our work spans the entire vehicle—from concept development through production—ensuring every detail contributes to a premium customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Perceived Quality (PQ) Geometry requirements, standards, and engineering guidelines.
- Define and secure harmonized Fit & Finish targets across complete vehicle systems.
- Evaluate vehicle geometry, dimensional quality, and appearance execution throughout virtual and physical development phases.
- Perform geometry analysis using CAD models, digital mock-ups, and visualization tools.
- Support virtual validation activities to identify geometry and craftsmanship issues early in the development process.
- Analyze gap and flush conditions, tolerances, interfaces, and perceived quality performance.
- Collaborate closely with Design, Vehicle Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Product Development, and Program Management teams.
- Prepare technical recommendations, engineering reports, and decision material for project stakeholders.
- Support root cause analysis and issue resolution related to perceived quality concerns.
- Participate in design reviews, technical workshops, and engineering assessments.
- Drive continuous improvement of PQ methods, standards, validation processes, and engineering best practices.
- Represent the customer perspective throughout product development to ensure premium craftsmanship and product quality.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in:
- Mechanical Engineering
- Automotive Engineering
- Product Development
- Industrial Design Engineering
- Manufacturing Engineering
- Mechatronics
- or a related technical discipline.
- 3+ years of experience in automotive product development, vehicle engineering, or mechanical design.
- Experience working with vehicle geometry, dimensional engineering, or product development.
- Good understanding of automotive development processes.
- Experience using CAD software and digital visualization tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
