Your role

As our Deputy Head of Strategy & Future Capabilities, you will support and work closely with the Head of Strategy & Future Capabilities. You will lead parts of the strategic work that spans across the entire portfolio of the Business Area Dynamics and in collaboration with other Business Areas within Saab. In addition, you will work with business development to ensure we have the best possible business opportunities when moving into the later stages of the business plan period. You’ll shape the future of defense in an environment where adaptability, managing complexity, and collaboration are key drivers of success.

Key responsibilities
  • Steer the business area in the right direction through building the business plan for next period
  • Forge and maintain strong relationships with customers, partners, research institutes, and strategic suppliers
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies, defense trends, and market dynamics, transforming insights into an actionable strategic execution
  • Lead people within business development, CMI/BI, M&A, digitalisation, portfolio management, innovation and future capabilities as they tackle complex challenges, shifting landscapes and future-focused topics
  • Represent the company at industry events, consortia, and in front of critical stakeholders
  • Balance multiple interfaces and priorities, ensuring agile responses to new opportunities and challenges
Your profile

You hold a Master’s degree in Engineering, or alternatively in Economics or a related technical discipline. You are an experienced leader with the ability to build coalitions, navigate complex stakeholder landscapes, and communicate effectively even in situations with many unknowns.

Your leadership style is collaborative and inclusive; you believe that the strength of the team exceeds that of any individual. With a strategic mindset and the capacity to manage multiple parallel initiatives, you are comfortable operating in a fast-changing environment.

You bring solid experience from the defense sector, with a deep understanding of government affairs, customer relations, and the importance of international partnerships.
