Job summary

Skanska seeks a senior data governance lead to steer the group’s governance strategy, operating model, and roadmaps. You will define ownership, policies, and controls across data lifecycle, while prioritizing critical assets to support security, resilience, and continuity.

You will collaborate with IT, cybersecurity, legal, privacy, risk, and business units, driving accountability and ensuring audits are evidenced and aligned with group standards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of proven experience leading data governance initiatives.
• Strong understanding of governance frameworks and information controls.
• Experience with regulatory expectations in an enterprise environment.
• Demonstrated experience in governance framework and policy development.
• Expertise in data classification, access, and retention governance.
• Fluency in English; Swedish is a plus.

• Lead Skanska’s data governance strategy, operating model, and roadmap in alignment with Group principles and business priorities.
• Implement governance policies, standards, and frameworks covering data ownership, classification, access, retention, and lifecycle management.

• Work closely with Group and Business Unit stakeholders across IT, cybersecurity, legal, privacy, risk, and business functions.
• Drive accountability by defining, enabling, and supporting data ownership and stewardship roles.
• Ensure governance controls are clearly documented, implemented, and evidenced to support audit, compliance, and assurance activities.
• Monitor data governance maturity, identify gaps and risks, and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
• Build awareness and adoption of data governance practices through communication, guidance, and training.
