Job summary

If Insurance is seeking an experienced Data Engineering Lead to coach, lead and mentor data engineers across the Nordics. You will develop reliable data products on Azure Databricks and promote best practices.

You will work in an Agile DevOps environment with cross-functional stakeholders, focusing on data quality, governance, and scalable lakehouse solutions; provide leadership and drive engineering excellence.

Qualifications

Extensive experience leading data engineering teams.
Hands-on delivery of end-to-end data platforms.
Strong ability to translate complex data concepts for engineers and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Build and lead a distributed data engineering team across the Nordics and Baltics.
Support growth, engagement, and development of chapter members.
Set high standards for data ownership, quality, reliability and delivery.
Foster a collaborative, learning-oriented engineering culture.
Promote engineering practices: reusability, automation, testing, security, scalable data products.
Mentor engineers in Azure Databricks and solution development.
Enable production-grade data products, pipelines, and lakehouse services with trusted data.
Establish chapter-wide practices covering data quality, governance, CI/CD, IaC, and operational excellence.
Drive standardization, modular design, and cost efficiency across the Azure data platform.
Build communities of practice across teams and domains.
