Avaus is seeking a Data Engineer to join our Data & Analytics team for a long-term assignment with a client using Databricks. You will build scalable pipelines and contribute to AI-driven analytics across the enterprise.

The role requires durable Python/Spark expertise and strong data design skills, with English fluency and optional local language capabilities depending on location.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of Data Engineering experience with a degree in CS, Math, or Physics.
• At least 3 years of hands-on experience orchestrating workloads within Databricks.
• Proficient in Python and Apache Spark for complex data processing.
• Experience designing data platforms using Databricks, Spark, SQL and Python.
• Ability to bridge data to insights through dashboard development.
• Fluency in English; local language skills (Swedish/Finnish/German) are a plus.

The opportunity

Join our Data & Analytics team as a Data Engineer. You won't just move data, you’ll get to build the scalable pipelines that drive our client projects and strategic decisions.

This role is a recruitment for a specific long-term assignment at one of our most forward leaning clients who are working with Databricks as part of their architecture. The goal of our partnership is to drive growth across their commercial operations with the help of AI and automation. We are developing cutting edge AI and agentic use cases and solutions in the client’s enterprise environment in a cross-functional team consisting of business developers, data scientists, analysts, data engineers and marketing and sales channel specialists.

Your toolkit

• The Core: 3–5 years of Data Engineering experience with a degree in CS, Math, or Physics.
• Databricks Expert: At least 3 years of hands‑on experience orchestrating workloads within Databricks.
• The Languages: Proficient in Python and Apache Spark for complex data processing.
• Data Design: Proven experience designing and implementing data platforms using Databricks, Apache Spark, SQL and Python.
• Visualization: Ability to bridge the gap between raw data and insights through dashboard development.
• Communication: Fluency in English is required and depending on office location it is great if you also know the local language to some extent (Swedish, Finnish or German).
