Job summary

ENGAGE STUDIOS on Sweden’s west coast seeks a Data Engineer to build and operate business-owned data products on the existing platform. You will focus on batch and streaming pipelines, data warehouse development, governance, quality, and automation across cloud environments.

Responsibilities include designing ETL/ELT workflows, data models, and dashboards; supporting data integration across AWS and Alibaba Cloud; and building automated, auditable data pipelines with infrastructure as code.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years in data engineering or data platform ops.
• Bachelor's or Master's in CS, Eng, IT or related field.
• SQL proficiency and Python/PySpark experience.
• Strong data warehousing, modelling, ETL/ELT knowledge.
• Experience with batch/streaming pipelines.
• Terraform and IaC familiarity.
• Monitoring, troubleshooting and production support.
• Understanding of governance, privacy and retention.
• Git CI/CD and automated testing familiarity.
• Fluent English; Chinese is a plus.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Join the Data Solutions and Products team as a Data Engineer. You will develop, manage and operate business-owned data products on the existing data platform - focusing on data pipelines, data warehouse development, data governance, data quality, operational monitoring and infrastructure automation across cloud environments.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop and maintain batch and streaming data pipelines for vehicle domain data
• Develop ETL/ELT workflows for cleansing, transformation, validation and enrichment
• Design and maintain data models and warehouse/lakehouse structures for analytics, reporting and data services
• Support data integration and transfer across AWS, Alibaba Cloud and other environments
• Use Infrastructure as Code (preferably Terraform) to automate deployment of business-owned data resources
• Manage data governance (dictionaries, classification, access, lineage, privacy, quality, retention)
• Define and maintain data quality checks; monitor pipelines, freshness and availability with alerts
• Investigate and resolve pipeline, dataset and data warehouse issues; support releases and production ops
• Document models, pipelines, IaC, governance and procedures; build basic Power BI reports where needed

REQUIREMENTS

• 3-5 years in data engineering, data warehouse development, data management or data product operations
• Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Engineering, IT or related field
• Practical SQL plus working knowledge of Python and/or PySpark
• Solid understanding of data warehousing, modelling, ETL/ELT and data quality
• Experience with batch or streaming data pipelines
• Familiarity with Databricks (preferably on AWS); Alibaba Cloud is an advantage
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code, preferably Terraform
• Practical monitoring, troubleshooting and production support experience
• Understanding of data governance, access management, lineage, privacy and retention
• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD and automated testing
• Fluent English (Chinese an advantage)
• On-site west coast Sweden, longterm, full-time

PREFERRED

• Power BI experience
• Connected vehicle, automotive or IoT data platforms
• Previous Geely-group data domain experience
