Job summary

Hitachi Energy Sweden is seeking several motivated Control Application Engineers to design, implement and verify control software for FACTS devices in customer projects worldwide. You will collaborate with global teams, contractors and customers from tender to energization, ensuring performance and safety.

The role requires an MSc in engineering and strong software development skills, with fluency in English; Swedish is advantageous.

Qualifications

MSc in Engineering with specialization in Power Systems, Control System, power electronics or similar.
Experience in software development, programming and testing.
Engineering experience in control theory, power systems, including plants, converter stations, automation, FACTS, HVDC is beneficial.
Knowledge of power quality applications and MACH control system is advantageous.
Fluent English; Swedish language skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, test and debug control logic and power control algorithms for FACTS devices.
Perform combined testing of the control system software and hardware using realtime simulators.
Understand customer needs by reading specifications, participating in meetings and verifying FAT compliance.
Maintain extensive contact with other engineering groups, lead engineers, local offices and customers.
Travel to site to assist energization and ensure safe startup and performance.
Demonstrate responsibility and ownership with effective daily planning.
