Job summary

Cititec is seeking a Commercial Manager to lead the commercial function on a major data centre build in Dalarna, Sweden. You will take ownership of cost control, budgeting, forecasting, and contract administration on a fast-paced, multi-package programme.

The role requires hands-on site experience, robust stakeholder management, and the ability to align commercial and delivery priorities with project management and site teams. August start for suitable permanent candidates.

Responsibilities

• Lead the commercial management of the project, including cost control, budgeting and forecasting.
• Manage contract administration and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
• Review and negotiate subcontractor packages and variations.
• Monitor project spend against budget and report on commercial performance.
• Support procurement processes and supplier management across the project.
• Identify and manage commercial risk, escalating issues as needed.
• Work closely with project management, construction and site teams to align commercial and delivery priorities.
• Prepare and present commercial reporting for internal and client stakeholders.
• Support final account settlement and close out processes.

Job description

I am currently supporting a major data centre construction project in Dalarna, Sweden, as they build out their delivery team ahead of an August start. They are looking to hire a Commercial Manager to lead the commercial function across a large scale, fast paced build.

This is a strong opportunity to take ownership of the commercial delivery on one of the most active construction programmes currently running in the Nordics.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the commercial management of the project, including cost control, budgeting and forecasting
• Manage contract administration and ensure compliance with contractual obligations
• Review and negotiate subcontractor packages and variations
• Monitor project spend against budget and report on commercial performance
• Support procurement processes and supplier management across the project
• Identify and manage commercial risk, escalating issues as needed
• Work closely with project management, construction and site teams to align commercial and delivery priorities
• Prepare and present commercial reporting for internal and client stakeholders
• Support final account settlement and close out processes

Requirements

• Experience in a commercial management role on large scale construction projects
• Data centre or mission critical experience is a bonus but not essential, we welcome backgrounds from industrial, commercial or infrastructure sectors
• Strong understanding of contract administration and cost control
• Comfortable working on site in a fast paced, multi package programme
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Relevant quantity surveying or commercial qualification preferred
