Job summary

Sandvik Mining IT Infrastructure Services is seeking a Cloud and FinOps Lead who will shape Mining's cloud strategy across public, private and hybrid environments, driving governance, cost transparency and sustainable value.

You will lead the development of Mining’s Cloud and FinOps capability, establish direction, enable informed workload decisions and report to the Head of IT Infrastructure Services. The role offers hybrid work with preference for Sandviken, Sweden.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of public, private and hybrid cloud concepts and cost implications.
• Experience using data, analytics or reporting to generate insights and guide decisions.
• Ability to assess technical options, dependencies and trade-offs with architects and engineers.
• Experience translating business and workload needs into clear technical or service requirements.
• Clear communication skills in English and ability to work across business, finance, cybersecurity, architecture, internal service providers and external partners.

About Your Job

You lead the development of Mining’s Cloud and FinOps capability across public, private and hybrid cloud services. At the intersection of technology, data, finance and business, you establish direction and enable informed workload and investment decisions.

You report to the Head of IT Infrastructure Services at Mining.

Job responsibilities

• Provide visibility into cloud consumption, costs, forecasts, ownership and risks to support sound decisions.
• Define Mining‑specific data and reporting requirements and enable scalable analysis through the common data platform and a dedicated Mining workspace.
• Assess cloud consumption options and clarify technical, operational and financial trade‑offs.
• Translating business and workload into prioritized requirements for cloud services, platforms, data and specialist support.
• Strengthen governance, automation, self‑service and shared FinOps practices.

Location and flexibility

The preferred location is Sandviken, Sweden, while Tampere, Finland may be considered. This role offers a hybrid work arrangement, combining time in the office with the flexibility to work remotely.

Your profile

You bring relevant experience in cloud services, cloud governance, cloud operations, FinOps or a closely related technical field. You combine sound technical judgment with an analytical mindset and understand how cloud choices affect costs, risks and business value.

Your background includes

• Strong understanding of public, private and hybrid cloud concepts, cloud‑native consumption, workload lifecycles, service models and cost implications.
• Experience using data, analytics or reporting to generate insights and guide decisions.
• The ability to assess technical options, dependencies and trade‑offs with architects, engineers and application or development teams.
• Experience translating business and workload needs into clear technical or service requirements.
• Clear communication skills in English and the confidence to work across business, finance, cybersecurity, architecture, internal service providers and external partners.

Experience in software development, DevOps, data and analytics, platform engineering or technical service management is beneficial.

Analytical and curious, you create clarity from fragmented information and take a structured, pragmatic approach to moving decisions forward. You build trust across organizational boundaries and challenge constructively when trade‑offs need to be made.

Your work involves close collaboration with application and development teams, finance, cybersecurity, architecture, Group IT, Country IT and external partners.
