Job summary

Sandvik is seeking a Cloud and FinOps Lead for its Mining IT Infrastructure Services to develop and govern cloud, data and FinOps capabilities across public, private and hybrid clouds. You will guide workload planning, investment decisions and governance while collaborating with finance, cybersecurity and architecture teams.

The role reports to the Head of IT Infrastructure Services within Mining and offers a hybrid work setup with options for office presence in Sandviken and flexible

Qualifications

• Experience in cloud services, cloud governance, cloud operations or FinOps.
• Background in data, analytics or reporting to drive decisions.
• Ability to assess options and trade-offs with architects and engineers.
• Clear English communication across business, finance, cybersecurity and partners.
• Experience in software development, DevOps, data/analytics, platform engineering or technical service management is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Provide visibility into cloud consumption, costs, forecasts, ownership and risks for sound decisions.
• Define Mining-specific data and reporting requirements and enable scalable analysis on the data platform.
• Assess cloud consumption options and clarify technical, operational and financial trade-offs.
• Translate business/workload needs into clear technical/service requirements for cloud services, platforms, data and support.
• Strengthen governance, automation, self-service and shared FinOps practices.

This role offers a hybrid work arrangement, combining time in the office with the flexibility to work remotely.Your profileYou bring relevant experience in cloud services, cloud governance, cloud operations, FinOps or a closely related technical field. You combine sound technical judgment with an analytical mindset and understand how cloud choices affect costs, risks and business value.Your background includesStrong understanding of public, private and hybrid cloud concepts, cloud-native consumption, workload lifecycles, service models and cost implications.Experience using data, analytics or reporting to generate insights and guide decisions.The ability to assess technical options, dependencies and trade-offs with architects, engineers and application or development teams.Experience translating business and workload needs into clear technical or service requirements.Clear communication skills in English and the confidence to work across business, finance, cybersecurity, architecture, internal service providers and external partners.Experience in software development, DevOps, data and analytics, platform engineering or technical service management is beneficial.Analytical and curious, you create clarity from fragmented information and take a structured, pragmatic approach to moving decisions forward.
