Job summary

Lyten is seeking an Environmental Control Technician to maintain clean room environments essential for our advanced materials production. You will monitor temperature, humidity and particulates and operate HVAC systems to ensure compliant conditions for battery and semiconductor workflows.

Responsibilities include routine inspections, preventive maintenance, logging readings, and supporting ISO/GMP compliance and audits.

Qualifications

• Technical diploma or vocational training in HVAC, Mechanical, Electrical, or related field.
• 2–3 years of experience in clean room or controlled environment maintenance, preferably in battery or semiconductor manufacturing.

• Operate and troubleshoot HVAC, dehumidifiers, and air filtration units.
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on clean room equipment.
• Ensure adherence to ISO standards and internal SOPs; maintain logs of readings and incidents.
• Follow safety protocols and support quality audits.
• Collaborate with production teams to minimise downtime and ensure optimal conditions.

Key Responsibilities

Environmental Control

• Monitor and maintain temperature, humidity, and particulate levels within clean and dry rooms according to defined specifications.
• Operate and troubleshoot HVAC systems, dehumidifiers, and air filtration units.

Maintenance & Troubleshooting

• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on clean room equipment and utilities.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with HVAC, dehumidification, and filtration systems.
• Identify and rectify deviations in environmental conditions promptly.

Compliance & Documentation

• Ensure adherence to ISO standards and internal SOPs for clean room operations.
• Maintain accurate logs of environmental readings, maintenance activities, and incidents.

Safety & Quality

• Follow strict safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures when servicing equipment.
• Support quality audits and inspections by providing required documentation and reports.

Collaboration

• Work closely with production teams to minimise downtime and ensure optimal conditions for battery cell assembly.
• Coordinate with external service providers for specialised maintenance tasks.

Requirements

Educational background and previous experience required for the role

• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in clean room or controlled environment maintenance, preferably in battery or semiconductor manufacturing.

• Knowledge of HVAC systems, dehumidification technology, and air filtration processes.
• Ability to interpret environmental control data and troubleshoot deviations.
• Familiarity with ISO clean room classifications and GMP standards.
