Job summary

Betsson Group in Stockholm is seeking a Head of Engineering for Campaigns & Rewards. You will lead multiple engineering teams, driving delivery, quality, and technical excellence across our Gaming product vertical.

You will partner with product to execute roadmaps, mentor senior engineers, and champion initiatives to enhance performance, scalability, and security. The role requires a strong engineering background and experience with agile practices, data-driven decisions, and distributed teams.

Qualifications

• Experience in building and leading top engineering teams.
• Experience in senior/strategic engineering leadership roles (2+ years).
• Strong software engineering background (10+ years).
• Coaching engineering leaders and nurturing talent.
• Proficient in agile practices for product development.
• Comfort with highly available, high-load transactional systems.
• Experience defining OKRs and KPIs with data-driven decisions.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Nice to have Gaming industry exposure.
• Experience managing cross-border / distributed teams.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead a high performing engineering organisation covering multiple teams, with clear strategies.
• Support, mentor and coach the engineering managers and leads.
• Collaborate with architecture to drive technical vision and future domain design.
• Develop and execute product roadmaps with product counterparts.
• Champion technical initiatives for the product development roadmap.
• Stay updated on gaming industry trends and emerging technologies.
• Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and agile excellence.
• Drive delivery across teams, optimising for people and time.
• Ensure platform reliability, security, and scalability, addressing risks.
• Manage engineering budgets, resources, and timelines to scope.
• Define metrics and KPIs to monitor performance and outcomes.
• Identify bottlenecks in technology and processes; address them.
• Lead by example and step into missing roles when needed.
