A job at IKEA is so much more than home furnishings. Together, we work to make a better everyday life for the many. It's the perfect fit if you want to contribute, grow, and share. Join the team and start a better life for yourself.

Help shape Ingka Group’s digital future through software procurement. As Category Manager for Software, you will lead an experienced team, build strategic supplier partnerships and work closely with Group Digital to secure the supplier base for the future.

We are looking for an experienced leader who combines people leadership with commercial expertise and a deep understanding of the digital and technology market. You have led people, business and cross-functional teams in a global, multinational organisation. You bring curiosity, a commitment to continuous learning, and a passion for innovation and entrepreneurship.

You understand how AI and other technology advances are reshaping the industry and can translate these developments into clear short- and long-term strategies. You build trusting relationships with business partners in Group Digital, combining market insight and an understanding of leading industry practices to become a trusted advisor.

  • A deep understanding of the digital industry, supplier markets and macroeconomic trends
  • Strong experience in supplier management and developing suppliers and strategic partnerships
  • Strong communication and influencing skills at all organisational levels
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Experience leading and delivering change
  • Fluency in written and spoken English

You lead through people, engaging and motivating others to turn strategy into action. You take a holistic view of the business, translate long-term priorities into clear action plans and communicate strategies with confidence—always considering the needs of IKEA as a whole.

Your responsibilities

Software markets and Ingka’s digital needs are evolving. In this role you will help shape how we engage with suppliers and use contract and pricing models to support IKEA’s business priorities. This includes responding to the balance between self-built, best-of-breed and platform solutions, and the introduction of AI capabilities into solutions and contracts.

You will lead an experienced team within the Software Category, part of the Digital & Tech Category Area. Working closely with Ingka’s Group Digital departments, you will align plans and objectives, develop partnerships with key suppliers and secure a supplier base that meets Ingka Group’s needs. You will also build the organisation’s capabilities in category-based sourcing.

  • Develop and implement the software category strategy and action plans, and secure their impact is achieved
  • Monitor supplier markets, trends and innovation to identify category opportunities and bring relevant insights to business owners
  • Build close relationships with business owners and align plans to deliver results
  • Bring cross-functional teams together around shared objectives, clear deliverables and a common goal
  • Secure, manage and develop the supplier base through partnerships with key suppliers
  • Recruit and develop competent, high-performing and diverse co-workers
  • Encourage collaboration across the organisation and empower co-workers to challenge existing solutions and drive improvement

You will report to the Category Area Manager, Digital & Tech. The role is based in Malmö, Sweden.
