Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and collaborate: Head a cross-functional category team and act as an integrated business partner across NCC’s Business Areas and functions.
  • Supplier strategy & negotiations: Run structured supplier assessments, negotiate major contracts, and drive value creation beyond cost – focusing on risk, performance, and long-term business relationships.
  • Drive sustainability & traceability: Ensure strategic supply of binders with a focus on sustainability, traceability, and future-proofing NCC’s resource base.
  • Strategic risk assessments: Proactively assess and manage supply chain risks in volatile and material-dependent markets.
  • Performance steering: Own the KPIs, forecasts, and savings reporting for the category.
  • Market intelligence: Monitor trends in binders, pricing, and regulation – translating these into proactive category strategies.
Who We’re Looking For
  • ~10 years’ experience in strategic purchasing, category management, or supply strategy – ideally within process industries, construction, or material-driven categories.
  • Previous roles such as Category Manager, Strategic Purchaser, or a combination of consultancy and category roles.
  • Experience with major sourcing agreements, supplier partnerships, and centralized procurement functions.
  • Specific experience in binders (e.g. bitumen, asphalt binders, oil-based products, or related raw materials) is valuable but not mandatory.
  • Strong understanding of global pricing mechanisms, sustainability trends, and supply chain dynamics.
  • Comfortable navigating both operational environments and executive-level discussions.
Education
  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Economics, or similar.
  • Continuous learning mindset with demonstrated professional curiosity.
  • Strategic thinker with business acumen and long-term vision.
  • Structured & analytical – strong with data, logic, and decision-making under complexity.
  • Influential communicator – confident in stakeholder dialogues, skilled in negotiation, and effective across all levels of the organization.
  • Grounded & self-driven – able to challenge and collaborate without ego.
  • Sustainability-minded – understands environmental impact and integrates sustainability into procurement practices.
  • Fluent in English and a Scandinavian language.
