Kivra AB in Stockholm is hiring a Business Controller who will redefine finance with AI, data and code. You’ll own close processes, build scalable controls and put numbers at the heart of decisions. You’ll work alongside AI and data teams to automate routines and deliver auditable, real-time insights.

Fluency in English is required, Swedish is a plus. The role is full-time and based in our central Stockholm office, with flexible arrangements to fit life’s demands.

Qualifications

Are you our next Business Controller?

You know accounting and consolidation inside out, but you’d rather build something that does the job than do the same task twice. Maybe you’ve spent years reviewing how others do finance. Now you want to build it yourself, and build it better.

This role is about defining what finance looks like when it’s built from scratch with AI, data and code, and making it the best in the world. It’s not for someone who wants to maintain the status quo. It’s for someone who sees a broken process and can’t leave it alone.

At Kivra, we’re building the digital infrastructure that more than 6 million people in Sweden trust and use. At the same time, we are saving trees, reducing the paper that is printed and transported, by providing a better digital alternative to physical paper communication.

What you’ll be doing

We’re a team of three working together to reimagine how finance is done, and we work like Swiss army knives: whatever the problem is, we solve it. AI is part of everything we do. We pull our own data, build our own tools and don’t wait for someone else to do it for us. With AI, we’ve extended our reach in every direction, and the lines between finance, data and tech are fading. You’ll bring deep financial expertise and use it to build processes that are scalable, auditable and raise the bar for how Kivra operates.

We work as a team, but you will be responsible for:

• Reinvent how we close. Today we close once a month. We want books that are up to date almost every day, where automated jobs do the routine work and you only step in when the numbers don’t match

• Build financial controls that work by themselves. Turn our risks into automated controls that stop errors before they happen and prove themselves without manual evidence.

• Free up time for what matters. When you can trust the numbers, you spend less time checking them and more time on what they mean: where we make money, where we don’t, and what we should do about it.

• Define what creates value. What makes Kivra more valuable to our users, senders, society and owners? You’ll help us answer that, and make sure the KPIs we follow and the decisions we make actually build on the answer.

• Own the finance logic in code. You define the rules and controls, and work hand in hand with our AI and data team on the infrastructure.

Who we are looking for

Knowledge matters, but mindset matters more. We’re looking for someone who:

• Knows the numbers inside out. A solid foundation in accounting, consolidation and annual reporting. A background in audit is a plus.

• Solves problems at the root. You don’t patch the same issue every month. You find out why it happens and make it go away.

• Builds rather than waits. You’re comfortable with SQL or Python and use AI daily, or you’ve learned it fast and want to go further.

• Moves fast. You’d rather sit down for a day and build a solution than spend weeks planning one.

• Thinks like an owner. You’re always asking which business initiatives Kivra should pursue, what they could bring and what they cost, and you’re comfortable telling the business when the answer is no.

Additional information

This role is full-time and based in Stockholm. We offer the flexibility that life sometimes requires, but we believe that collaboration and value creation happens best when we sit and work together from our office in central Stockholm. Fluency in English is required; Swedish is a plus but not required. We are unable to sponsor new work permits, but can sponsor/renew existing permits.
