Job summary

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Manager – Building Information Modeling (BIM) to lead and develop the Swedish BIM organization within HVDC Engineering, Västerås. You will guide a team of BIM specialists, set strategic objectives, and ensure capacity and competence to meet growing project demand.

The role combines people leadership with technical delivery, requiring strong communication, stakeholder management, and a track record of growing engineering teams in global settings.

Qualifications

• Experience leading engineering or technical teams in a people management role.
• Proven ability to coach, engage, and build high-performing teams in dynamic environments.
• Strong understanding of BIM, Digital Engineering, or engineering project delivery.
• Experience working in global and multicultural organizations.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to manage people, priorities, and resources to achieve business goals.
• Experience with resource planning, workforce management, and organizational development.
• Fluent in English; Swedish is considered an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the local BIM organization in Sweden, fostering a high-performing team culture.
• Drive employee growth and engagement through coaching, feedback, performance development, and succession planning.
• Set goals and priorities aligned with HVDC Engineering objectives and monitor delivery and performance.
• Ensure the team has the right competencies, capacity, and resources for the project portfolio.
• Promote collaboration and knowledge sharing across the BIM community and wider organization.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, and retention of BIM professionals.
• Collaborate with global BIM leadership, project teams, and stakeholders to align priorities and resource needs.
• Drive continuous improvement of processes and team effectiveness.
• Support financial planning, budgeting, and resource forecasting for the local BIM organization.
