Job summary

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Manager – Building Information Modeling (BIM) to lead and develop the Swedish BIM organization within HVDC Engineering, Västerås. You will guide a team of BIM specialists, set strategic objectives, and ensure capacity and competence to meet growing project demand.

The role combines people leadership with technical delivery, requiring strong communication, stakeholder management, and a track record of growing engineering teams in global settings.

Qualifications

  • Experience leading engineering or technical teams in a people management role.
  • Proven ability to coach, engage, and build high-performing teams in dynamic environments.
  • Strong understanding of BIM, Digital Engineering, or engineering project delivery.
  • Experience working in global and multicultural organizations.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to manage people, priorities, and resources to achieve business goals.
  • Experience with resource planning, workforce management, and organizational development.
  • Fluent in English; Swedish is considered an advantage.

Within our HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current) Global Product Group, we are pioneers in advanced DC transmission technology, enabling efficient long‑distance and submarine power transmission and connecting power systems worldwide.

As the HVDC organization continues to grow, our Engineering BIM organization is expanding to meet increasing tender and project demand. To strengthen engineering execution, efficiency, and digital delivery, we are now looking for a Manager – Building Information Modeling (BIM) to lead and develop our Swedish BIM organization within HVDC Engineering.

In this role, you will lead a Swedish team of BIM specialists, combining people leadership, strategic development, and operational oversight. You will work closely with the Global Engineering Manager, senior leaders, and key stakeholders to shape the BIM Operations, standardize ways of working, and ensure the right capacity and competence for current and future business needs.

This role is based in Västerås, Sweden.

Your background
  • Proven experience leading and developing engineering, digital, or technical teams in a people management role.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach, engage, and build high-performing teams in dynamic and evolving environments.
  • Strong understanding of BIM, Digital Engineering, or engineering project delivery environments.
  • Experience working in global and multicultural organizations
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to manage people, priorities, and resources to achieve business goals.
  • Experience with resource planning, workforce management, and organizational development.
  • Fluent in English; Swedish is considered an advantage.
