Job summary

Volvo Energy is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead BESS installation projects from contract signature through energization, acceptance, and handover at Volvo Group.

You will combine strong project leadership with practical understanding of construction, electrical infrastructure, commissioning and site execution, coordinating with customers, grid owners, authorities, and internal teams. Swedish and English fluency is required.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering or equivalent professional experience.
• Previous project management experience within energy, electrical infrastructure, construction or industrial projects.
• Experience in BESS, renewable energy, grid connection or similar infrastructure projects, including installation and commissioning.
• Understanding of project contracts, preferably ABT 06 and AB 04.
• Self-motivated, structured and results-driven with strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Fluent in Swedish and English.

Responsibilities

• Own project scope, schedule, cost, risk, quality, and execution, with regular reporting to stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain the integrated project schedule covering permits, deliveries, civil and electrical works, grid activities, testing and energization milestones.
• Procure and manage installation, civil and electrical contractors together with design and Purchasing teams, ensuring safety and quality requirements.
• Serve as primary contact for project execution, coordinating customers, grid owners, authorities, contractors, suppliers and other stakeholders.
• Lead site activities during construction, commissioning and testing, including contractor coordination and safety.
• Manage project risks, changes, interfaces, claims, variation orders, and time extensions.
• Lead project close-out through punch list, final acceptance and handover with required documentation and training.
• Maintain a site presence aligned with project needs, especially during critical construction and energization phases.
