Job summary

SKF is seeking an Advanced Simulation Software Developer to join the Gothenburg-based Digital Products Engineering team. You will contribute to Beast, SKF's leading bearing simulation platform, and collaborate across product development, research, application engineering, and customers worldwide.

The role demands a PhD or MSc in a related field, experience with C++, HPC, and AI applications in engineering, plus strong English communication.

Qualifications

• PhD in mechanical engineering, engineering physics, computer science, mathematics, or similar; MSc with relevant industry experience.
• Experience in developing simulation technology, engineering software, or scientific computing techniques.
• Proficiency in programming languages like C++, with clear, maintainable, and efficient code.
• Experience with high-performance computing, contact mechanics and tribology, or AI in engineering software is meritorious.
• Good communication skills and professional fluency in English.

Responsibilities

• Drive the development and verification of new simulation technology.
• Develop and verify simulation technology across domains such as multibody dynamics, FE methods, HPC, 3D modelling, and co-simulation.
• Collaborate with users and stakeholders to translate needs into technical improvements and UI/model building tools.
• Engage with product development and application engineering to deliver measurable impact on product performance and engineering efficiency.
• Contribute to the exploration and integration of AI to enhance simulation software capabilities and engineering efficiency.
• Contribute to the definition and evolution of simple, efficient, and modern design principles.
• Provide advanced technical support in complex customer cases.
