Working as an Associate Lawyer within the competition team at Roschier

At Roschier, we work with leading Nordic and international companies on complex matters that impact international business and market development.

Our competition practice advises on a broad range of EU and competition law matters, including merger control and other M&A-related matters, cartel and abuse of dominance investigations, private enforcement, state aid and public procurement. The team also advises clients on proceedings before national competition authorities, the European Commission and the EU courts. The practice is closely integrated with Roschier’s M&A practice, giving our competition lawyers the opportunity to work on competition law aspects of large and complex public and private transactions in the Nordic region.

An important and rapidly developing part of the practice is Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and protective security. Regulatory reviews of investments and assets critical to society are increasing in scope, complexity and importance. Our lawyers guide clients through the Swedish FDI regime and the Swedish Protective Security Act, including EU screening processes, and work with multi‑jurisdictional FDI assessments and regulatory strategies in cross‑border transactions. The work draws on expertise across areas including transactions, merger control, regulatory policy, real estate, defense and trade law.

As part of the team, you will therefore have the opportunity to develop within areas that combine law, business and regulation, working with competition and FDI questions in both transactional and contentious contexts. For someone who is curious about how markets work and how regulation affects major business decisions, the practice offers a broad and dynamic platform on which to build your expertise.

Your profile

For this position, we are looking for you who are eager to start your career and develop within the field of competition law. You may be about to graduate with a law degree or have already graduated and gained some experience within competition law, FDI, regulatory matters, transactions or disputes. However, prior experience within the field is not essential if you are curious and have a strong interest and motivation to learn.
