Job Description:

Would you like to join one of the fastest-growing organizations within Amazon Web Services (AWS), and help customers of all industries and sizes gain the best value and service from AWS? Cloud Operations Architects (COA) drive our customers’ creative and transformative spirit of innovation across all technologies - including Compute, Storage, Database, Big Data, Application-level Services, Networking, Serverless, Deployment, Security and more. This is not a sales role, but rather an opportunity to be the principal technical advisor and ‘voice of the customer’ to organizations ranging from start-ups to large enterprises in the commercial and public sectors.

The Role

As an Associate COA, you will help craft and execute strategies to drive customer adoption and use of AWS services such as EC2, S3, DynamoDB, RDS, Lambda, CloudFront, IoT, and others. Your technical curiosity and customer-facing skills will enable you to represent AWS effectively within customer environments and drive initiatives with leadership on incidents, trade-offs, support, and risk management.

You will provide advocacy and strategic technical guidance to help customers plan and build solutions using best practices, and proactively maintain their AWS environments. Building close relationships with customers will help you understand their operational needs and technical challenges, enabling them to maximize value from AWS. The role may require travel of 10% or more as needed.

The Associate COA is central to delivering value to our Enterprise Support customers. If you wish to be at the forefront of innovation, join us!

Key responsibilities
  • Advise on solutions, provide technical guidance, and advocate for customers
  • Ensure AWS environments are operationally healthy, cost-effective, and less complex
  • Develop trusting relationships, understanding business and technical needs
  • Lead technical discussions on incidents, trade-offs, and risks
  • Collaborate with various partners including Solutions Architects and Sales teams
  • Proactively identify opportunities for additional customer value
  • Review service events, metrics, and pre-launch plans in detail
  • Assist customers in migrating workloads to the cloud and solving related problems
