Job summary

Storytel in Stockholm is seeking an Analytics Engineer to develop data capabilities that power decisions across our global organization. You’ll have significant technical and organizational impact, driving both immediate solutions and long-term strategic initiatives.

You will build semantic layers, model data, and collaborate with partners across domains, mentoring others and helping the team adopt best practices across the data stack.

Qualifications

• Experience creating and maintaining semantic layers.
• Experience in BI/Analytics/Data Engineering within Analytics Engineering.
• Deep expertise in SQL and data modeling; experienced with modern data stack technologies (dbt, Looker, BigQuery).
• Ability to deliver performant, accurate, scalable solutions.
• Experience mentoring junior engineers and driving technical improvements.
• Proven ability to lead complex data projects and improve products.
• Excellent communication skills; able to explain complex concepts clearly.
• Thrive in a feedback culture and continually improve skills.

• Develop data transformation steps and build a strong data modelling foundation for enabling self-service analytics across the company.
• Build and maintain trusting relationships with business partners across domains to enable self-service analytics.
• Plan and deliver meaningful projects to increase data literacy at Storytel.
• Lead the resolution of critical data issues, establishing monitoring systems and best practices to improve data reliability.
• Collaborate with data practitioners to understand needs and translate technical concepts for diverse audiences.
• Drive adoption of technical best practices across the data team, mentoring others and introducing industry innovations.

• Collaborate with data practitioners to understand their needs and requirements, breaking down complicated technical concepts to fit the audience.
• Drive adoption of technical best practices across the data team, mentoring others and bringing in industry innovations that improve how we work.

We Believe that You Have

• Experience with creating and maintaining semantic layers.
• Experience in working with data (BI/Analytics/Data Engineering) specializing within Analytics Engineering.
• Deep expertise in SQL and data modeling and extensive experience with modern data stack technologies (e.g., dbt, Looker, BigQuery, or equivalent tools).
• The ability to consistently deliver performant, accurate, and scalable solutions.
• Experience mentoring junior engineers and driving team-wide technical improvements.
• Proven ability to lead complex data projects, solve problems independently, and proactively improve products.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to various audiences.
• The ability to thrive in a feedback culture and constantly strive to improve your own skills and knowledge.
