Job summary

Cytiva, based at our site in Uppsala, Sweden, is seeking an Additive Process Engineer to join the Additive Engineering team. This full-time role focuses on developing and qualifying additive manufacturing processes, with emphasis on metal post-processing, across Cytiva’s product development activities.

You will collaborate with R&D and Global Supply Chain to transfer processes to production and improve product quality through robust validation and optimization. Fluent English is required.

Qualifications

• BSc/MSc in Material/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience with Additive Manufacturing (3D printing) and metal post-processing.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken).

Responsibilities

• Develop new and existing additive manufacturing processes to qualify new lines, focusing on metal post processing.
• Collaborate with R&D across Cytiva, lead and support process development for additive activities from concept to production transfer.
• Provide hands-on support in post-processing to understand material-property-process interdependencies.
• Ensure rigorous validation plans, analysis criteria, and final acceptance.
• Identify manufacturing issues and implement cost-effective solutions to integrate Additive Manufacturing into production.

We are looking for an Additive Process Engineer to join our dynamic Additive Engineering team, which is part of the CTO organization, supporting all businesses and functions within Cytiva. The team is responsible for driving the scientific and technology agenda, providing additive manufacturing resources to New Product Development teams across Cytiva, and having a very strong relationship with Global Supply Chain to ensure continuity of product supply and supporting manufacturing improvement projects. This is a full time position, and is based at our site in Uppsala, Sweden.

What You Will Do

• Development of new and existing Additive manufacturing processes with the goal to qualify new manufacturing lines, specifically in metal post processing.
• Work closely with R&D teams in all business units across Cytiva, independently lead, perform and support process development for additive activities– from idea and concept development, via prototyping, to transfer to production.
• Contribute with hands‑on support in post‑processing work – to understand how different material properties and production process are interconnected.
• Take responsibility for ensuring rigor in determining processes requiring validation, development of plans and analysis criteria, execution and final analysis and acceptance.
• Drive improved product quality by identifying manufacturing issues, developing advanced manufacturing cost‑effective solutions, and overseeing successful implementation of Additive Manufacturing into production.

The Essential Requirements Of The Job Include

• BSc/MSc in Material/Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent knowledge from work experience.
• Experience working with Additive Manufacturing (3D printing), specifically in metal post processing of 3D-printed parts.
• Fluent in English – both written and verbal.

It Would Be a Plus If You Also Have

• Knowledge in material science.
• Fluent in Swedish – both written and verbal.
