Job summary

Market Partner Scandinavia is seeking an Accounting Student to join the Global Record to Report (RTR) team in a part-time consultant role based in Stockholm. You will support month-end close, prepare reconciliations and journal entries, and explore AI-powered automation with guidance from experienced accountants.

You will work 16 hours per week around your studies, collaborating with teammates in Stockholm and New York City, and gain hands-on exposure to IFRS, data analysis, and process

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field with basic accounting knowledge.
• Curious, detail-oriented, and you like understanding why the numbers look the way they do.
• An automation mindset: you notice repetitive work and want to find a better way.
• Hands-on experience using AI tools to improve your work, or strong curiosity to start, plus the judgment to know when not to trust the output.
• Interested in working with data; any SQL, BigQuery or advanced Excel experience is a plus, but we’ll help you learn.
• Clear communicator, comfortable asking questions and sharing ideas.
• Available about 16 hours per week, with some extra flexibility during month-end close if your studies allow.

Responsibilities

• Support the monthly and quarterly close for selected areas, including reconciliations, journal entries and first-draft flux analysis under IFRS
• Use AI tools and data (BigQuery, SQL, LLM-based assistants) to help automate preparation and speed up analysis
• Help build and document simple automations and AI-assisted workflows, with guidance from the team
• Help keep processes accurate and well-documented, including support for SOX controls and audit evidence
• Help with ad hoc requests from partner teams such as FP&A, Tax, Treasury and AP
• Help prepare materials for internal and external audits
• Learn from experienced accountants and share ideas on new ways of working

Period: ASAP to 2027-04-30 (full-time), with a possibility of extension.

About the role

We are looking for a part-time Accounting Student to join our client's Global Record to Report (RTR) team while you complete your studies.

Their close is evolving fast. We want a student who is curious about accounting and about how AI and automation can change the way finance teams work, and who wants to learn by doing real work alongside experienced accountants.

As part of the General Ledger team, you will support our month-end close: from preparing reconciliations and journal entries, analyzing results, and helping use data and AI tools to remove manual work to support shape how a lean, global team scales.

This is a part-time role (16 hours per week) that fits around your studies and is based in Stockholm. You will work closely with our team members both in Stockholm and New York City.

What you'll do
