Inter IKEA Group in Malmö is seeking a 3D Platform Engineer to help build the shared capabilities behind IKEA's next generation of 3D digital planning and product experiences.

You will transform CAD and PLM product data into reliable, scalable 3D assets and services, covering tessellation, mesh optimization, LOD generation, and fidelity preservation. Join a cross-functional, agile team to deliver high-quality data for customer-facing solutions.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of computer graphics, real-time and offline rendering.
• Experience building software products for 3D, graphics, or VFX workflows.
• Knowledge of CAD tools from CAD to content creation and rendering.
• Experience with asset creation, materials, lighting, and scene composition.
• DevOps mindset; agile environments and scalable services.
• Degree in CS, media technology, digital media, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, operate, and lifecycle-manage reusable 3D platform services using JavaScript, TypeScript, C#, C++, and Python.
• Translate business needs into technical designs and development briefs.
• Evaluate architectures to improve security, performance, availability, and developer experience.
• Collaborate in agile DevOps teams to integrate 3D capabilities into workflows.
• Provide technical direction for core 3D solutions and guide usage of platform capabilities.
• Build automated CAD-to-mesh pipelines preserving structure, metadata and geometry.
• Develop mesh-processing workflows for repair, tessellation, LOD generation, and delivery of assets.
• Benchmark and integrate CAD/geometry SDKs to enable cloud-based 3D processing.
