Job description

The Treasury Accountant is responsible for managing daily fund positions, forecasting cash flows, and ensuring timely and accurate reporting to support optimal liquidity. Also accountable for bank reconciliations, resolving payment issues, maintaining banking access controls, and supporting treasury system improvements.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Prepare and report on the fund position on a daily basis to the management.
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of the reports provided to the management team.
  • Forecast daily cash flow requirements, considering incoming and outgoing payments.
  • Share the cash flow forecast with management to ensure optimal liquidity.
  • Assist in the preparation and reconciliation of the bank statement on a regular basis.
  • Ensure that any discrepancies between the bank records and internal accounts are identified and resolved promptly.
  • Manage day-to-day dealings with banks for any banking and payment-related issues.
  • Liaise with Relationship Managers (RM) to resolve issues regarding payments.
  • Handle user rights addition/deletion and ensure proper access controls are maintained with the banks.
  • Regularly maintain and monitor the debit limits with the banks.
  • Share updates on fund positions, cash flow forecasts, and any other critical treasury-related matters.
  • Participate in the implementation and improvement of treasury systems and processes.
  • Assist in audits related to treasury functions and provide necessary documentation and explanations as required.
Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting; professional certification preferred.
  • Solid understanding of treasury operations and cash management.
  • Proven experience in managing liquidity, bank relationships, and cash forecasting.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen eye for financial accuracy.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to effectively liaise with internal stakeholders and external financial institutions.
