The Technical Service Delivery Specialist – Cloud is an experienced individual contributor responsible forexecuting and handling cloud service delivery across client environments.Working primarily within Microsoft Azure, AWS, and hybrid platforms, this roleapplies solid technical knowledge and practical judgment to ensure cloudservices are delivered reliably, securely, and in line with contracted SLAs.The Senior Specialist handles complex operational tasks with meaningfulindependence, engages clients professionally on technical matters, andcontributes to service improvements based on accumulated experience — withouttaking on a leadership, architecture, or team management mandate.
KeyResponsibilities:
- Service DeliveryExecution
- Execute and monitor dailycloud service delivery activities across assigned client environments, coveringAzure, AWS, and hybrid platforms within defined operational scope.
- Ensure consistentdelivery of cloud services across compute, storage, networking, identity, andplatform layers in line with contracted SLA requirements.
- Track cloud resourcehealth, availability zone status, and service quotas; identify and reportdeviations from agreed uptime and performance targets.
- Coordinate with cloudengineering and support teams for escalations related to resource degradation,misconfiguration, or service disruption, following escalation procedures.
- Maintain accurate servicerecords, operational logs, and delivery documentation in compliance with clientand organizational standards.
- Perform periodic reviewsof cloud configuration baselines, access policies, and resource tagging toconfirm alignment with established governance standards.
- Monitor cloud dashboards,alerting tools, and health indicators across managed environments; respond toalerts within defined response windows.
- Support cloud costgovernance by conducting utilization reviews, preparing right-sizingrecommendations, tracking reserved instance coverage, and responding to budgetalerts.
- Coordinate and executeroutine operational tasks including patch management, backup validation,snapshot schedules, and certificate renewals for cloud-hosted workloads.
- Identify and elevate performance degradation, cost anomalies, or capacity concerns to the ServiceDelivery Lead with relevant supporting data.
- Support cloud securityposture activities by reviewing compliance scores in Defender for Cloud and AWSSecurity Hub and actioning assigned remediation items within scope.
- Act as a technical pointof contact for assigned clients on day-to-day cloud service matters, ensuringtimely and professional communication.
- Participate in servicereview meetings, presenting cloud performance metrics, incident summaries, costdata, and operational updates in a clear and structured manner.
- Conduct technicaldiscussions and assessments with clients to understand their cloud environmentrequirements and ensure delivery activities remain aligned to business needs.
- Evaluate and processminor cloud change requests — such as scaling adjustments, firewall ruleupdates, and IAM policy changes — within defined approval thresholds.
- Support client onboardingactivities including environment readiness checks, access provisioning,monitoring configuration, and platform baseline validation.
- Gather client feedbackand communicate service adjustments that improve cloud reliability and theoverall operational experience.
- Process Compliance &Quality
- Follow ITIL-basedoperational processes for incident, request, and change management across allcloud delivery activities.
- Ensure compliance withcloud security frameworks, data residency requirements, and client-specificgovernance policies in day-to-day operations.
- Maintain and update cloudrunbooks, SOPs, and operational checklists for recurring tasks, keepingdocumentation current and accurate.
- Identify inefficienciesin delivery workflows and raise improvement suggestions — including potentialautomation or tooling opportunities — through appropriate channels.
- Performance Tracking& Reporting
- Maintain delivery andperformance reports for cloud environments, covering availability metrics,incident counts, and SLA adherence.
- Track trends in cloudresource utilization, ticket volumes, and security posture data to surfaceareas for operational improvement.
- Prepare cloud service KPIsummaries and contribute content to monthly and quarterly service reviewreports.
- Contribute to root causeanalysis (RCA) for cloud incidents and support development of preventive actionitems based on findings.
- Monitor clientsatisfaction indicators and flag service quality gaps to the Service DeliveryLead for corrective action.
- Collaboration &Continuous Improvement
- Work with cloudengineering teams, vendor technical account managers, and partner teams tomaintain consistency in service quality and platform standards.
- Participate inknowledge-sharing sessions and contribute to internal cloud deliverydocumentation and best practice materials.
- Take part inlessons-learned reviews following incident closures, migrations, or deliverymilestones and apply findings to future delivery activities.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor'sdegree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience: 1-2 years ofexperience in IT service delivery, with solid hands-on exposure to cloudoperations across Microsoft Azure, AWS, and hybrid environments.
- Proven day-to-dayoperational experience managing cloud environments in enterprise servicedelivery settings with exposure to operational governance.
- Good working knowledge ofMicrosoft Active Directory, SSO/Federation, and Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD)including configuration, administration, and operational support.
- Familiarity with ActiveDirectory security practices including identity hardening, health checks,backup, and directory protection.
- Practical experiencesupporting on-premises, hybrid, and cloud-integrated Microsoft infrastructureenvironments.
- Working knowledge ofMicrosoft Exchange Server (2013–2019 and SE) including mail flow, ExchangeOnline, hybrid identity, client connectivity, and load balancing.
- Good knowledge ofMicrosoft server technologies including ADFS, RMS, WSUS, WDS, CertificateServices, and IIS.
- Good knowledge ofvirtualization platforms including Microsoft Hyper-V and VMware.
- Familiarity with SQLServer administration and Azure SQL Managed Instance in operational and supportcontexts.
- Solid understanding ofclient/server architecture, core networking, and Internet technologyfundamentals.
- Good working knowledge ofAzure architecture best practices based on the Azure Well-Architected Frameworkpillars.
- Practical experience withcloud service models including SaaS, IaaS, and PaaS in managed service orenterprise delivery contexts.
- Familiarity withmigration and modernization scenarios across on-premises, hybrid, and cloudenvironments.
- Hands-on experience withbackup and recovery solutions including Veeam, Commvault, and Azure Backup.
- Working experience withAzure Site Recovery (ASR) including replication tasks, failover support, and DRvalidation activities.
- Practical experience withMicrosoft Defender for Cloud including security monitoring, compliance review,and basic posture management tasks.
