JOB SCOPE
The Manager leads planning, organizing, and directing support services across the facility to ensure seamless, safe, and patient-centered operations. Responsibilities include developing service level agreements, budgeting, procurement, vendor management, and workforce planning for housekeeping, dietary, environmental services, transportation, and facilities maintenance. The role collaborates with clinical leadership to align support services with care pathways, infection control, and quality initiatives. It drives process improvements, leverages technology for inventory and asset management, and oversees safety programs, emergency preparedness, and regulatory inspections. External duties involve liaising with suppliers, contractors, regulators, and community partners. The position requires strong people leadership, contingency planning, and a commitment to sustainability, patient comfort, and a clean, welcoming environment that supports positive patient outcomes and staff morale.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Educations and Certificates:
- Bachelor’s degree in health administration, Facilities Management, Business Administration, or a related field
Experience:
- Minimum 8 years of progressive management experience in hospital/healthcare support services, with demonstrated expertise in facilities, environmental services, food service, or materials management.
- Experience with budgeting, contract management, vendor negotiations, and compliance with health and safety standards.
- Prior leadership experience supervising diverse teams and coordinating cross-functional operations
SKILLS AND PROFESSIONAL KNOWLEDGE
- Operational leadership, process optimization, and service excellence.
- Strong financial acumen: budgeting, cost control, and cost-benefit analysis.
- Knowledge of infection prevention, safety, sanitation, waste management, and environmental services.
- Facilities management, asset management, and equipment maintenance basics.
- Quality improvement, incident reporting, and regulatory compliance (e.g., JCAHO/Joint Commission equivalents).
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills.

- Manage equipment maintenance, capital replacements, and asset inventory.
- Coordinate catering and dietary planning to meet patient and staff needs.
- Establish service level agreements with clinical departments and monitor compliance.
- Lead supplier selection, contract negotiations, and performance reviews.
- Ensure regulatory readiness for inspections and accreditation surveys.
- Drive process improvements using Lean/Six Sigma or similar methodologies.
