American School Dhahran is seeking a Substitute Teacher to join our Elementary/Middle School team in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia. This role involves delivering lessons per prepared plans in the absence of regular teachers and maintaining classroom safety and order.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree, has strong English communication skills, and prior substitute teaching or teaching certification is preferred. This is a part-time on-site position with responsibilities across ASD classrooms.

Responsibilities

Summary

We are looking for a substitute teacher who will be a key member of American School Dhahran.

The position is primarily responsible for managing and delivering lessons according to the lesson plans developed by the regular teachers, in the absence of the regular teachers.

Position Duties

The successful candidate will be able to effectively:

• Demonstrate commitment to the safety and security of children and young people (child protection).
• Deliver lessons to students as outlined in lesson plans developed by regular teachers.
• Motivate students to learn and participate in the classroom during lessons.
• Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
• Attend staff meetings if required.
• Supervise students outside classrooms if required.
• Coordinate with the ASD substitute teacher coordinator for ASD classroom expectations.
• Coordinate with the ASD substitute teacher coordinator for the ASD emergency protocol.
• Maintain a safe learning environment for students and staff at all times.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal and/or the Assistant Principals.
