We are seeking a senior Subject Matter Expert (SME) with a strong finance background, specializing in collections, cost efficiency, and financial optimization. The role requires hands-on expertise in designing, leading, and optimizing financial processes, with the ability to work closely with project and portfolio management teams and senior stakeholders. The ideal candidate will bring deep domain knowledge in finance operations, drive efficiency initiatives, and support strategic decision-making across large, complex organizations.

About the Role

Responsibilities
  • Finance & Cost Efficiency
  • Lead cost optimization and cost-efficiency initiatives across finance functions
  • Analyze financial performance, cost structures, and operational spend to identify savings opportunities
  • Define and implement financial control frameworks and efficiency KPIs
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities
  • Collections & Revenue Assurance
  • Design and optimize collections strategies (early, mid, and late-stage collections)
  • Improve cash flow, recovery rates, and delinquency management
  • Define policies, workflows, and performance metrics for collections teams
  • Work closely with stakeholders to reduce bad debt and improve revenue realization
  • Advisory & SME Support
  • Act as a finance SME for large programs, transformation initiatives, and portfolios
  • Provide expert input to project management and portfolio management teams
  • Support strategic initiatives related to finance transformation, operating models, and process re-engineering
  • Prepare insights, recommendations, and executive-level reports
  • Stakeholder Management
  • Engage with senior leadership, finance heads, and cross-functional teams
  • Translate complex financial data into actionable business insights
  • Support decision-making at executive and steering committee levels
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business
  • MBA, CPA, CFA, or similar certification is highly preferred
Required Skills
  • 10+ years of experience in Finance, with strong exposure to:

  • Proven experience working as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) or senior advisor
  • Strong understanding of financial KPIs, cash flow management, and revenue assurance
  • Experience supporting or working alongside project and portfolio management teams
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills
Preferred Skills
  • Experience in finance transformation or shared services environments
  • Exposure to industries such as banking, financial services, pensions, investments, or large enterprise finance
  • Knowledge of finance systems, reporting tools, or automation initiatives
  • Consulting or advisory background is a plus
