Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or related field preferred.
• Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in an educational institution or financial services environment or accounts receivable.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in using computer software and databases for processing payments and maintaining financial records.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in handling financial transactions and maintaining records.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of practices related to student financial services and collections.
• Customer service–oriented mindset with a commitment to providing exceptional service to students and their families.

Responsibilities

• Collect tuition fees and other charges from students during admission and registration.
• Verify student financial records and ensure accuracy of payment details.
• Assist students and families with understanding tuition fees, deadlines, and payment options.
• Process payments using electronic systems, cash, checks, or other forms.
• Record all financial transactions in the student information system or database.
• Generate and issue receipts, invoices, and payment reminders.
• Resolve payment discrepancies and liaise with students, parents, or guardians.
• Collaborate with admissions and financial aid offices on payment processes.
• Monitor outstanding balances and follow up on overdue payments.
• Adhere to policies, regulations, and data security.
• Contact debtors to negotiate payment plans and collect overdue debts.
• Explain debt repayment options and assist debtors with obligations.
• Document all communication with debtors and update records.
• Follow up on missed payments and initiate appropriate collection actions.
• Resolve disputes or complaints during the collection process.
• Provide regular reports to management on debt collection activities.
