Job summary

International Maritime Industries requires a qualified inspector to oversee fabrication and erection of offshore structures, ensuring compliance with project specs and management systems.

You will verify material identity, inspect fit-up and welding, check dimensional tolerances with EDM/theodolite/dumpy level, manage consumables, and endorse records, coordinating with the client to meet contractual and code requirements.

Qualifications

• Diploma in technical engineering or equivalent.
• CSWIP 3.1/AWS-CWI or equivalent welding inspection certification.
• ISO 9001:2015 auditor or lead auditor certification.
• Minimum of 6–9 years’ experience in quality inspection of offshore structures.

Responsibilities

• Verify structural material identity and conformance to installation drawings and specifications.
• Verify fit-up and welding inspection, and that joints have been released.
• Verify dimensions and alignment tolerances per construction specs using EDM, theodolite, or dumpy level.
• Conduct surveillance to verify compliance with specifications, WPS, weld consumables, and welder qualification.
• Identify project consumable needs and liaise with PSCM to ensure timely orders and stock control.
• Perform walkdown inspections and punch listings; witness final acceptance and any tests per contract.
• Endorse inspection records from initial to final acceptance and maintain client interface to meet contractual and code requirements.
• Develop standards and procedures for inspection and testing, including risk assessments and I&T plans.
