Qualifications

Job description

JOB PURPOSE / OBJECTIVE

The position is responsible for the smooth functioning of the CAD applications used by engineering design departments for detailed and production design.

Effective administering CAD applications, such as AVEVA Marine Hull Design and AVEVA E3D Design, is necessary for this position. This includes setup, configuration, customization, and user assistance.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Implementation, configuration, and customization of Computer Aided Design & Drafting (CADD) & Engineering software.
• Implementation & maintenance of Integration between CADD systems, ERP systems, Plant systems.
• Developing and implementing design procedures for modelling, drawing developing, Cataloging, administration, and other related tasks.
• Provide internal training and day-to-day support to users.
• Support IT in administration and maintenance of 3D modelling projects.
• Developing macros, programs, and forms (PML, C#) for automation of the routine tasks (Administration, Drafting, Modelling).
• Support Import/Export between various design software.
• Extraction of various reports, MTOs, review files, clash reports etc.
• Management and usage optimization of software licenses.
• Develop visualizations for presentation purpose from Model.
• Coordination with internal departments.
• Ensure compliance with Health, Safety & Quality Assurance (HS&QA) policies and procedures as applicable.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable information security policies & procedures.

Professional Qualifications

Preferred – Any additional certification / training on 3D CAD tools and system administration.

Competencies

• Extensive knowledge and experience in Design & Engineering software used for Shipbuilding & Rig building like AVEVA Hull Design, Initial Design, E3D Design, E3DSD, AVEVA Engineering, AVEVA P&ID, AVEVA NET, AVEVA ERM, Tekla Structures, AutoCAD.
• Knowledge & experience in Administration, Configuration, Cats & Specs for 3D modelling projects
• Knowledge & experience in Customization using PML, C/C++, VB etc.
• Knowledge in ERP systems & Plant systems and its interfacing with CADD systems.
• Excellent communications skills: interpersonal, listening, oral, and written.
• Demonstrated high order interpersonal skills and the ability to operate within a multinational environment.
• Demonstrated ability to influence and motivate others with regards to continuous improvement.

Experience

At least 9-15 years’ experience in any engineering company as system administrator or CADD Application specialist on engineering software system.
