Job Summary
The Senior QA/QC- Civil Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all construction activities, materials, and processes comply with project specifications, contractual requirements, and industry quality standards. The role involves monitoring and implementing quality control measures, coordinating with stakeholders, and taking corrective actions to maintain the highest standards of quality in construction projects.
Responsibilities
- Monitor, implement, and report on the operation of Osus’ Quality Assurance System, ensuring compliance with project-specific and contractual quality requirements.
- Ensure that subcontractors and suppliers comply with the Project Quality Plan (PQP) and site-specific procedures.
- Follow up the approvals with the consultant and contractors for Work Method Statements, ITPs, Risk Assessments, Material approvals, and Vendor approvals.
- Arranging workshops and training for site staff about Construction field activities, Material handling, Quality Cost, etc. in a stage-by-stage manner according to the project construction baseline schedule and finishing schedule.
- Coordinating with Surveyors for confirming and surveillance of permanent and Temporary Benchmarks before starting the construction activities and Setting out.
- Management of a quality control program for a construction project.
- Ensure all materials meet or exceed the contract specifications.
- Implement the QA/QC management system at site.
- Ensure the all-quality control documentation is compiled and competed for as-built handover through the QC Turnover engineer.
- Coordinate with the site construction manager on all quality issues Coordinate and chair the QA/QC site weekly meetings with the project’s subcontractors and QC personnel.
- Assure all technical documents related to site quality control are current status.

- Creating audit notifications & non-conformance reports and handling follow-up with audits to close non-conformities's
- Monitoring and controlling QC Inspectors and QC Engineers at site,
- Preparation of Daily Surveillance Reports for construction activities & coordinated with Construction Team & Client QC for the agree of the surveillance outcome
- Monitoring subcontractor’s activities to ensure compliance of construction, materials and installations with project specifications and IFC Drawings
- Inspecting internal sites for overall construction activities as per daily RFI schedule with the sub-contractor’s QC & Client
- Administering Third Party Soil and Materials Testing Laboratory for testing of Field Density, Concrete, Soil, Painting and other tests required as per project specifications, codes & standards
- Control all nonconformance reports and undertake remedial action
- Keeping a track of NCRs, CARs & PARs in assigned area and collaborating with sub-contractor’s QC personnel to ensure actions are executed to expedite closure of NCR AND CARs
- Proficient in applying tools, concepts and methodologies of QA & QC to analytical & reporting processes within the business unit and maintaining quality objectives complementary to corporate policies / customer demands
- Monitor the quality and performance of suppliers and installation teams to ensure supplied products and services meet the required standards.
- Verify that materials, works, and processes meet project specifications; stop or reject any non-compliant materials or work and inform the Project Manager and Quality Manager.
- Ensure the correct storage of materials as per manufacturer instructions, including verification of shelf life and approved stock usage.
- Assure product identification, tracing, and documentation from receipt until installation.
- Raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and Observations when required for any non-conforming products, works, or processes.
- Coordinate with the Quality Manager to improve site quality processes and procedures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in QA/QC- QUALITY roles within the construction industry with International Registered Certified Auditor (IRCA).
- Trained as IMS Internal Auditor (ISO 9/14/45K) will be preferred.
- Experience in working with subcontractors, consultants, and engineers to ensure quality compliance.
- Proficiency in conducting inspections, testing, and material verification.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to quality control.
- Effective communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and work under tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in quality management software and documentation systems.
- High level of integrity and professionalism.
- Strong leadership and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and quality excellence.
- Membership in the American Society of Quality is preferable.
