Our client is a growing investment advisory and asset management firm transitioning into an AI-enabled, model-driven investment platform.

About the Role

This role is a hands-on leadership position focused on portfolio construction, execution oversight, and disciplined investment management. It is not a sales or asset-raising role.

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Portfolio Manager to take hands-on responsibility for portfolio construction, implementation, monitoring and ongoing management across client mandates.

This is primarily an investment-management role rather than a traditional sales or asset-gathering position. However, the Portfolio Manager is expected to contribute to the growth and retention of AUM through strong investment management, client confidence, participation in important client discussions, development of portfolio solutions, and support for institutional and advisory opportunities.

The firm is building an increasingly AI-enabled investment-management operating model. The successful candidate should therefore be comfortable working with AI, automation and agent-based investment workflows and interested in helping redesign traditional portfolio-management processes.

Human investment judgment, risk responsibility and accountability remain with the Portfolio Manager.

2. Core Responsibilities

• Construct and manage multi-asset portfolios across client mandates.
• Implement approved investment frameworks, strategic asset allocation and model portfolios.
• Monitor portfolio performance, risk exposures, concentration and deviations from strategy.
• Lead portfolio rebalancing and oversee implementation and execution.
• Assess securities, funds, managers and investment instruments where relevant.
• Identify portfolio risks and implementation inefficiencies.
• Support performance attribution and portfolio reviews.
• Maintain appropriate documentation of investment decisions and rationale.

Investment Process & Governance

• Contribute to development and continuous improvement of the investment process.
• Prepare portfolio analysis, performance and risk reporting.
• Support the Investment Committee with investment analysis and implementation recommendations.
• Monitor portfolios against mandates, policies and approved limits.
• Coordinate with Compliance, Operations and relevant service providers.
• Maintain disciplined investment documentation, controls and escalation.

AI-Enabled Investment Management

• Use AI as part of the normal investment-management workflow.
• Identify research, monitoring, reporting and analytical processes that can be automated.
• Work with technology teams to develop AI-supported investment workflows and agents.
• Help establish appropriate boundaries between automated analysis and human investment judgment.
• Test and improve AI tools used for investment research and portfolio management.
• Build processes that allow portfolio-management capacity to scale without weakening investment discipline or governance.
• Remain open to progressively increasing automation as technology develops.

Business & AUM Development

The position does not carry a traditional sales quota. However, the Portfolio Manager should contribute to sustainable AUM growth by:

• strengthening client confidence in the investment-management capability;
• supporting important prospective-client and institutional meetings;
• helping convert suitable advisory relationships into managed portfolios;
• contributing to portfolio propositions and investment solutions;
• supporting retention of existing AUM;
• helping develop scalable investment offerings;
• contributing investment expertise to institutional proposals and partnerships.

3. Candidate Profile

Experience

• 7+ years of relevant investment-management experience.
• Strong multi-asset experience, including equities, fixed income and funds.
• Practical experience in asset allocation, risk management, portfolio monitoring and rebalancing.
• Knowledge of applicable CMA requirements strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business or related field.
• CFA qualification or progress toward CFA preferred.
• Relevant professional registration/eligibility should be assessed during the recruitment process.
