Job summary

UMATR is seeking a Principal Platform Engineer to own and shape the platform architecture for a scalable, multi-tenant SaaS offering. You will drive backend design, data pipelines, and secure APIs, with hands-on leadership across distributed systems.

The role emphasizes C#/.NET and AI-enabled capabilities, requiring deep cloud, container, and CI/CD expertise. You will guide engineering standards, collaborate across teams, and influence technology choices while delivering robust, scalable systems

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience at senior levels
• Proven experience designing scalable SaaS or distributed systems
• Hands-on backend and distributed systems expertise
• Strong API design experience (REST/GraphQL) and auth patterns
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP) and Kubernetes/containers/CI/CD
• Experience with governed data platforms, data lineage or ontologies
• Hands-on with AI integration patterns (LLM prompting, RAG, tool use, agent architectures)

Responsibilities

• Own the technical architecture across backend services, data pipelines and platform infra
• Design scalable, multi-tenant platform capabilities across devices and workflows
• Define data pipelines with contracts, lineage, quality controls and replay
• Build secure, scalable APIs and SDKs for internal teams, partners and AI apps
• Make technology decisions across relational, time-series, streaming and search workloads
• Lead backend platform evolution with C#/.NET; contribute elsewhere as needed
• Shape AI-native capabilities including agents, MCP and model evaluation
• Improve engineering standards across testing, CI/CD, observability and release processes
