Job summary

Confidential is seeking a Material Engineer to ensure construction materials meet contract specifications and industry standards. You will manage submittals, coordinate with consultants and suppliers, and support project teams for timely procurement and execution across infrastructure and landscape projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Material Engineer in construction.
  • Experience on infrastructure, landscape, or civil projects.
  • Knowledge of concrete, asphalt, aggregates, steel, and finishing materials.
  • Experience with material submittals, testing, and consultant approvals.
  • Familiarity with ASTM, AASHTO, BS, SASO and other standards.
  • Saudi Arabia or GCC experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Review project specifications and material requirements to ensure compliance with contract documents.
  • Prepare, submit, and track material submittals for consultant and client approval.
  • Evaluate technical data sheets, product certifications, samples, and manufacturer documentation.
  • Coordinate with procurement, suppliers, consultants, and project teams to expedite material approvals.
  • Verify that all materials meet project specifications, international standards, and client requirements.
  • Conduct material inspections and coordinate laboratory testing where required.
  • Resolve material-related technical issues in collaboration with design and site teams.
  • Maintain accurate records of approved materials, submittals, test reports, and compliance documentation.
  • Support project teams in selecting cost-effective and technically compliant materials.
  • Monitor material quality throughout procurement, delivery, and installation.
  • Ensure compliance with quality management procedures and company standards.
  • Participate in project meetings related to material approvals and technical coordination.

Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Material Engineer to join our growing team. Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Material Engineer within the construction industry.
  • Experience working on infrastructure, landscape, or civil construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials, including concrete, asphalt, aggregates, hardscape, irrigation, steel, and finishing materials.
  • Experience with material submittals, technical evaluations, laboratory testing, and consultant approval processes.
  • Familiarity with ASTM, AASHTO, BS, SASO, and other relevant construction standards.
  • Previous experience working in Saudi Arabia or the GCC is preferred.
