Job summary

Buro Happold in Riyadh is seeking a Senior Design Manager – Landscape Architect to lead landscape design management for a major luxury project.

You will oversee landscape packages, coordinate with architecture and public realm, manage consultants, and ensure design excellence across all stages from concept to construction.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Landscape Architecture, extensive experience in high-end hospitality or destination projects, and strong stakeholder skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture, Architecture or a related design discipline.
• Significant experience in landscape design management on high-end hospitality, residential, mixed-use or destination projects.
• Strong understanding of public realm design, external works coordination and landscape detailing.
• Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary coordination and design interfaces.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management capability.
• Good understanding of design review, approvals and construction support processes.
• BIM awareness and experience with digital coordination workflows are preferred.
• Middle East project experience is strongly preferred.

• Review design submissions for quality, coordination, feasibility and compliance with project objectives.
• Ensure integration of landscape design with architecture, structures, irrigation, lighting, utilities and sitewide infrastructure.
• Lead design reviews, material discussions and technical coordination workshops.
• Manage design risks, programme impacts and interface issues related to public realm and landscape packages.
• Support value engineering and design optimisation while maintaining premium design quality and user experience.
• Coordinate with client, operators and project teams on design intent, maintenance considerations and operational requirements.
• Monitor consultant deliverables and report on progress, constraints and decisions.

Your next role

The purpose of this role is to lead landscape design management across a major luxury project in Riyadh. You will oversee the delivery of landscape architecture packages, ensuring design excellence, technical coordination, authority compliance and integrated delivery with architecture, infrastructure and public realm elements.

Lead landscape design management across all project stages, from concept design through detailed design and construction support.

Manage landscape consultants, public realm designers and specialist subconsultants.

Review design submissions for quality, coordination, feasibility and compliance with project objectives.

Ensure integration of landscape design with architecture, structures, irrigation, lighting, utilities and sitewide infrastructure.

Lead design reviews, material discussions and technical coordination workshops.

Manage design risks, programme impacts and interface issues related to public realm and landscape packages.

Support value engineering and design optimisation while maintaining premium design quality and user experience.

Coordinate with client, operators and project teams on design intent, maintenance considerations and operational requirements.

Monitor consultant deliverables and report on progress, constraints and decisions.

Support procurement and consultant selection activities where required.

Your skills and experience

Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture, Architecture or a related design discipline.

Significant experience in landscape design management on high-end hospitality, residential, mixed-use or destination projects.

Strong understanding of public realm design, external works coordination and landscape detailing.

Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary coordination and design interfaces.

Strong communication and stakeholder management capability.

Good understanding of design review, approvals and construction support processes.

BIM awareness and experience with digital coordination workflows are preferred.

Middle East project experience is strongly preferred.
