Job summary

Bechtel is seeking a Senior Cost Engineer for the Ar Rjum Project Process Plant in Saudi Arabia. You will manage cost control, forecast costs, and analyze trends for the General Construction Contractor covering concrete, structural, mechanical, piping, platework, electrical, and instrument scopes.

You will prepare cost forecasts, review trends, and ensure alignment with EAC and budgets, delivering insights and innovative solutions to cost engineering challenges in a green field mining setting.

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Project/Construction Management or related fields (or international equivalent) and 10–15 years of relevant experience; alternatively, 15–20 years of relevant work experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cost budgets and accurate cost & cashflow forecasts, utilizing the change management system.
• Monitor progress of contractors, verify monthly incurred costs, prepare monthly accruals and provide variance analysis.
• Ensure approved trends and changes are incorporated into the overall project estimate at completion (EAC) and budget for cost and quantities.
• Prepare routine performance reports and special studies related to assigned scope for presentation to project, corporate, and/or customer management team(s).
• Maintains open communications with other organizations to support cost engineering analysis and control activities

Project Overview

The Ar Rjum Project comprises a green field gold project with three open pit mining operations with associated waste dumps and ore stockpile, a processing plant, tailings management facilities, and supporting infrastructure including water supply, power supply, maintenance facilities, offices, temporary and permanent accommodation village.

The Project is situated within the Central Arabian Gold Region, approximately 200 km north-east of Taif towards Riyadh and about 26 km South of Al Mouwayh, which is a small town situated on the Jeddah - Riyadh highway.

Job Summary

As the Senior Cost Engineer for the Process Plant, you will be responsible for analysis and cost control activities for the General Construction Contractor, which includes the scope Concrete, Structural, Mechanical, Piping, Platework, Electrical and Instrumentation scope for the Process Facility. You will prepare cost forecasts, review cost trends, and implement project requirements for cost control. Your detailed analysis will provide innovative solutions to cost engineering challenges.

Education And Experience Requirements

Required Knowledge And Skills

• Proficiency in using PC operating systems and multi discipline specific software applications (EcoSys, PowerBI, Microsoft applications).
• Skilled in oral and written communication, with demonstrated ability to present Project Controls information to management/client.
• Demonstrated skill in identifying, analysing, and solving problems.
